5. Santa Maria Novella – Located on Piazza Santa Maria Novella, this Gothic-style church dates back to the 13th century and houses an impressive collection of Renaissance frescoes and sculptures.

6. Ognissanti – Built in 1251 as a Franciscan convent, Ognissanti is now home to one of Michelangelo’s earliest artwork – his Pieta from 1494-1495 is housed here. Other masterpieces include work from Botticelli and Ghirlandaio.
